UIC Speech Festival Draws 19 Schools Saturday
A record 19 schools will compete in the Upper Iowa College speech and drama festival this Saturday, January 14. About 350 to 400 students will enter 10 events including news casting, interpretive reading in prose and poetry, extemporaneous speaking, oratory, debate, one act plays, declamation, humorous declamation, and dramatic declamation. Local schools in the field include Fayette Stor mont Valley High and North High.

Survived by wife five children ten grandchildren two brothers and one sister. Services were at Elgin Lutheran Church Jan 3 with burial in Illyria Cemetery.
