C G Grahams Letter on Cowboys and Frontier Myths
The letter reflects on John Boone and Daniel Fenton as familiar frontier figures and critiques sensational dime novels. It argues that Trapper and Indian Scout stories filled a void after real border life faded, noting that much of the lore was fictional and misleading. It contrasts the cowboy image with reality and warns readers in Fayette County about misrepresentations of stockraising and western life.
