Clifton Winfield Powell born February 13 1966 on a Alabama plantation, moved to Little Rock and studied at Kemper Military Academy and Exeter Academy. He worked as a linotype operator for the Chicago Tribune, lived on farms in Elkader and near Elgin, died December 28 at Postville hospital at eighty eight. Survived by his wife and children, with extensive family, funeral held at St Pauls Methodist church in Elgin.
