Why Twichell Thinks the Country Isn't Gone Broke
Ten reasons by E. Twichell, economist, why we are not badly off. Parking remains hard on business streets. three meals a day are still seen as normal if not guaranteed. Dealers stock extra chickens for Sunday dinners. Suit pressers take cash with a smile. Bare toes draw remarks. Obesity exceeds wonder-nourishment. Payroll bandits still find payrolls. The well-dressed man appears nourished with a gold watch. Hookshops avoid extra hires. The frugal man remains wary. Advertising in the Echo remains a stable, value‑driven path to buyers.
