Elgin Iowa public notice appears in The Elgin Echo Dial indicating second class mail matter status for Elgin Fayette County Iowa with post office dating September 1 1891 under the Act of March 3 1862.
Official notice states the adjourned hearing of the Joint County Boards of Education for Fayette and Clayton Counties Iowa reconvened at West Union and established boundaries for a consolidated school district to be known as the Consolidated Independent School District of Clermont Elgin. The decision fixes contiguous boundary lines with explicit metes and bounds starting at the north line of Fayette County.
Obscure legal notice documents a continuous land boundary description across numerous townships and ranges, detailing quarter and quarter-quarter sections, corner points, and section lines, with final statements about objections and officials. It includes unrelated local social notes about visitors, basketball games, and residents.
A son was born to Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Dummermuth on Sunday morning February 19. Agnes Rowe was a dinner guest of Mrs. N. M. Fritz, as reported in the Echo files from February 23, 1928.
