Ducks Unlimited Project Dedicates Lake Darling in Iowa
Ducks Unlimited will dedicate its second major waterfowl conservation project in Canada to J N Ding Darling the Des Moines conservationist and cartoonist. Lake Darling will be built with funds from Iowa sportsmen groups creating 10000 acres of nesting habitat with eight dams stabilizing water levels. 1912 miles of shoreline will be planted and fenced for waterfowl management. The project near Yorktown 80 miles northwest carries an estimated cost of 35000 dollars.
