Echo files from February 6 1919 report a deal making John Falk the owner of the Elgin Hotel property. Delbert Bakeman asks to forward the Echo to Cut Bank Montana noting his discharge from Camp Lewis and return to civilian life there. Other notes mention visitors Mrs Frank Greenley and sons, a Great Lakes service member Charles, and William Miller returning from Kelly Field with mixed luck. Albert Halverson is listed among German prison camp releases in today’s Chicago papers.
Mr and Mrs Allen Anderson hosted a Thursday party honoring Pfe Leo Sutter on furlough. Attendees included neighbors and relatives such as A O Anderson Milo Burrow Ivan Anderson Avis Albert Burrow Bernell Anderson Judith Donnie Ora Oestman and Mabel Barnes. Eileen Loftsgard Cedar Rapids visited, and several families hosted guests at homes around Win Sutter and Postville, Elkader, and nearby communities.

Mrs Woodrow Reed was a dinner guest in the Cornelius Reijerson home on Tuesday. Danice was a supper guest Sunday of Mr and Mrs Burnell Anderson and family. Harold Opland and daughters spent Sunday with the Lars Seim family at Decorah. Clarence Kirkeberg and Carlyle visited Mr and Mrs Cornelius Reier son. Helmer Loftsgard family and John Hel lum with Orvin and Jeanette Loftsgard were guests Sunday evening of Otto Hanson and family. Gilbert Loftsgard, late father of a daughter born Friday February 4. Mildur Opland returned from Chicago Thursday after visiting relatives. Mervin Reierson and Theo L Loftsgard and Edna spent Sunday with the Loftsgard family.
