Olive Elizabeth Knight of Elgin Iowa born August 8 1868 to J W and Alice Knight died January 81 1934 in Iowa City Union Hospital aged 65 5 28. Survived by husband Charles S Kniel two daughters Verle and Josephine, sister Edna Bopp and four brothers. Funeral at St Pauls Methodist Elgin conducted by Rev J J Snyder with nephews as casket bearers. burial in Elgin cemetery. A later service at Illyria church with local relatives and pallbearers.

Baldwin of Illyria Dies at 68 After Farming Life
George William Baldwin born August 24 1865 in Belle Plaine Iowa died February 2 1934 at his Illyria area home aged sixty eight years five months eight days. He married Stella Pritchard on September 9 1896 and farmed at the same plot with children Albert Clinton Clarence Gladys and Anna May. Survived by widow six children grandchildren and many relatives. Funeral services were held from the local church.

Andrew J. Cook a lifelong Clayton County resident died January 23 in Marion township after heart trouble. Born December 23 68 years ago he farmed the same land where he died married Mary Ann West in Elkader September 10 1891. Survived by widow two sons Alfred William and Andrew Merlin four daughters Gladys Margery Inez Hazel, a brother and sister in South Dakota and fourteen grandchildren. Funeral January 26 at home and Congregational church Elkader with Rev C T Brewster burial in East Side cemetery Elkader. We express gratitude to those who aided us after his death. Read Echo ads.
