The Grand Meadow Study Club met Friday with Mrs Ewly presiding. Members elected included Mire Setiar and Brick Wice. Elizabeth read a poem and Amundson presented an article on the Therapy Center in Decorah. The day included a thought for the day and discussion of future topics.
Toby Kittleson flew Robert Fal of Elgin and Robert Converse of Postville to Moline Illinois on business. On Tuesday morning Dec 22 he flew Paul and Guernsey Smith of Elgin to Maquoketa to attend a cattle sale.
Report notes a retirement center visit in Decorah for noon lunch. Attendees include Circle Mary and Mrs. William Elton, with Christmas Day dinner guests Mrs. Lenora Shipton and others. Visitors Cheryl and Vagts of Piladelphia and Elkhart Indiana visited prior, with Emma Anderson presenting at a West Clinton Lutheran Church event.
A Christmas Cantata and candlelight service were held Sunday evening at West Clermont Lutheran Church. The junior and senior choirs performed with the Lutherie message and readings, followed by lighting of candles and a prayer led by Pastor Paleraca. Ushers, choir directors, and pianists were named, including Agnes Bilden and Mrs Millard Nelson.
Mrs Gena and LaVerne Nn a plus Marvin and Howard J Johnson attended the wedding of Alta D Stile early morning. A relief dinner Saturday night at Holiday Inn Town City followed. Randy Mickey Kevin Candis Mack with grandparents Mr and Mrs R Mack of Fayetteville visited Friday night and Saturday. Alfred Barrack Dan Brenda Marlow Lynn Arlington and Walter Follett also called at Galen Mack home Wednesday evening.
Mrs Walter Follett, township chairman, reports envelopes not returned and quota unmet. Contributions support tuberculin testing, chest x ray programs, and local health efforts. most funds stay in the county, with seals as the campaign income. Please send contributions promptly so the report can be completed.
DeSales Falcons beat St George of Lansing 87 to 5 on their home floor with Dave Schrandt scoring 25 and Den ney Woldum 23. Junior Varsity also won 56 to 34. Holiday gatherings noted include families from Waukon Decorah Elgin and West Union with multiple relatives visiting and sharing Christmas meals.
Names drawn for the free Gold Bond Stamps include Mrs Byron Yauslin James Anderson Mrs Jerry E Anderson Lennie Stengland and Duane Gutere. Christmas prizes awarded with first prize a teddy bear to Mrs Whit Bacost and second prize coffee to Judy Olson Postville. other winners listed Mia Merle Alderson Walter Follett Melinda Schneider Roy Swenson Pratt Pritellard and Kathy Palgee Preeene.
Town & Country Club held a Christmas gathering at Mrs. Will Let Miller’s home on December 21. Seventeen regular members and one new member, Mrs. Milt Mohs, attended. Mrs. Lloyd Meier and Mrs. Jer Teapecesh oversaw the program. Mrs. Gasca read the Christmas story, the group sang carols, and a gift exchange followed. Progressive 500 was played with Mrs. Lyle Aanes winning high and Mrs. Reuben Steffins taking low.

Miss Karen Lee Olson of Postville and David Floyd Frieden of Elgin announce their engagement. Olson is a 1963 Valley Community High School graduate and a Rochester School of Practical Nursing graduate now employed at St Marys Hospital. Frieden is a 1959 Valley Community High School graduate, former Navy radar man, and current Elgin State Bank employee. No wedding date yet.
East and West Clermont Lutheran churches list worship services Sunday school and council meetings from Jan 3 to Jan 7. Notices include choir non meetings, confirmation class pauses on Jan 1 2 8 9 and resumes Jan 15 16. Local families and visitors are noted during Christmas week.

Mrs Normat Olson announces engagement to be married, with her fiancé from Decorah. The groom, Mr. Barynuditz, has recently been discharged after four years in the Navy. No wedding date has been set.
The East Clermont Junior Lutherans gathered Thursday evening December 17 at the church. Duane Cummings gave devotions as treasurer Elizabeth Bildeny reported finances. Teresa Olson offered the offertory prayer and Ric ky Reierson led the hymn with Ann Olson at the piano. Mrs Loren Qigon presented a film strip about the coming of Jesus. The junior group was directed by Mrs Oliver Larson, the intermediates with 10 present were led by Mrs Loren Olson, and the seniors with 15 members were directed by Mrs Kennethius. Lunch was provided by the Roger Amundsons and Eugene Thoreons.
