Dairy cows held steady despite high prices says report
A monthly cow testing association report from the agricultural extension notes little cause for alarm over selling dairy cows. Members resist disposing of good stock even with high prices, and not enough cows of merit exist to justify a fall sale. September saw 6,959 cows tested across 28 associations, with 75 cows yielding 40 pounds and 7 cows producing 5 pounds of butter fat. Seven purebred sires were purchased by members.
