Crop season yields record grain output in 1908 estimates
Towns report a favorable 1908 crop season with setbacks in northern counties. Total crop production for feed and oil reached 24,608,000 tons, five percent above 1987 and 26 percent above the 1936-47 average. Corn production stands at 909,279,000 bushels, the third highest on record, with end-year estimates slightly below the November figure due to revised acreage and yield data.
