Twenty five years ago 1922 Clermont high school opened its basketball season last Friday with a 12 to 0 victory over Calmar. Mrs Wm Larrabee Jr visited Davenport and Chicago to meet her daughter from Emma Willard School. Frank Powers, home from Columbia College Dubuque, and Margaret Hold headed to Albert Lea for holidays. A four year old died after pneumonia. J W Miller and family moved to Clermont on Vine Street. Ice harvest began with Frank Pringle first to pack. G W Miller plans a rice plant for his meat market to serve summer months. Walter Vinton and Geo Cook left for Carbon Cliffs, IL on business.

Irene DeSart and Francysenna DeSart were united in marriage in a candlelight double ring ceremony at West Clermont Church on December 21. The bride wore white slipper satin with lace Bertha neckline and long train, attended by sister Loyce Erickson as maid of honor and bridesmaids in aqua mist, chartreuse, and ald rose taffeta. Best man was Norman Brickfort. ushers Keith Clermont and Robert Kohler. A reception followed, then a short wedding trip. couple to reside in Clermont.
Mr and Mrs Larry Horan share a moment with Mr Mirs Mi during a ceremony that marks a family milestone. Attendees included relatives and friends, with local officials sending best wishes.
St Peter's Church presents a Christmas musical program featuring Little Town of Bethlehem Silent Night and other carols, including the Proper of the Mass arranged by Carlo Rossini, sung by St Peter's school children. Confessions Dec 24 afternoon and evening. Dec 25 High Mass at 8:30. follow with Low Mass of Thanksgiving. New Year's Eve Holy Hour 8 to 9 p.m. New Year's Day Masses at 8 and 10 a.m.
The Clermont Methodist Church announces an evening service on Sunday January 4 led by Pastor Rev. Bruce D. Jones.
Parish notes from Clermont list festive Christmas Day services at West Clermont 9 30 a m and East Clermont 11 a m with Sunday school program at East Clermont. Additional festival at Highland 11 a m on Friday Dec 26 and a future Jan 10 confirmands meeting. New Year events include East Clermont societies at 4 00 p m and Luther League at 8 p m plus a birth announcement for the Schrader family and their growing family at West Union hospital.
The Mothers' Club of East Clermont church met at Mrs Edward Kozelkas home. The group sang O Little Town of Bethlehem and Silent Night and read the Christmas Story. Members gave a Christmas clothing donation to the Lutherante Society at Decorah and discussed St Nicholas Day in Holland. Refreshments were served by the hostess. A son, Craig Louis, was born to Mrs Franklin Olson of Waterloo Sunday at Allen Memorial hospital. Anna Stee of Waterloo visited Art Stee weekend.
