A mosaic of quips and cartoons about manners, politics, and daily life, from polite forgiveness at Christmas to sly lines about love and labor. It includes jokes about coffee, cigars, piggy banks for war stamps, and a wry toast to cultural tropes.
Fragmented reminiscences echo wars and rural life
A clipped exchange recalls a soldier’s tale of a great explosion tearing the main road and a quick pivot to a side street as he drinks. Farm Machinery Preparedness Tips for Spring
Iowa State College specialists advise winter plow prep. Sharpen plowshares during off season and adjust down-suck and side-suck carefully to avoid hitch height issues. Rebuild worn shares with factory points welded on. Check clutch, lifting mechanism, land wheel, and wheel bearings. Keep grease away from rubber tires and clean thoroughly to prevent deterioration.
