New I S U President Outlines No Major Changes

New ISU president Parks pledges limited shifts in policy and outlines a five year program. The plan centers on a large interstate network expansion and highway funding, with 285 miles four lane paving and $102 million cost, plus 324 miles grading and bridges at $128 million. Federal aid totals $85 million over five years, and the state would cover most remaining costs. A legislative critique targets the tax commission as lax in collecting delinquent taxes amid broader fiscal scrutiny.
