The East Clermont Thursday Circle met Dec 14 at the home of Mrs. Richard Neumann. Devotions were led by Mrs. Neumann and Bible study by Mrs. Abner Amundson. The secretary’s report was read and approved. A short program and cookies will be served at the Gond Samaritan Retirement Center in West Union in January. Information on American Lutheran Church districts and conference was presented by Mrs. Oliver Larson and Mrs. Wubert Cummins. The meeting closed with prayers. Laneh was served by hostesses.

Ruth Jacobson a longtime Riverside Social Club member and wife of William Jacobson, died December 8 1967 at age 54. She lived near West Union all her life and leaves two sons Claud and Garald, daughters in law, granddaughters Lisa and Lorr, her mother Olga Reierson Thompson, and sister Hilda Peterson. Funeral was December 11 at Zion Lutheran Church West Union with burial there. Card of thanks from the family expresses gratitude for support during bereavement.

Sheehan Olson Post held its regular meeting at the Legion Hall Monday evening with 11 members present. Funeral services for Harry L Yauslin were held at West Clermont Lutheran Church on Tuesday December 12 at 2:00 p.m. Interment was at God's Acres cemetery. The 79 year old Clermont native died December 10 at Postville Community Hospital. He married Heber Ostlie in 1918 and had two daughters. He owned a general store, farmed, and ran an oil business before retirement after a 1938 stroke. Survivors include his wife Helen daughters Anna Helen Warne utscher and Gladys Harriet Nelson four grandchildren and siblings. Card of thanks from family expresses gratitude for support.
