The Elgin Study Club held its regular meeting at Mrs. Irene Yack home. A Christmas program featured quotations, a duet by Bernice Falk and Marie Muehlethaler, a Mary the Mother of Jesus paper by Adelia Torkelson, a Christmas story by Myrtle Falb, and a Christmas song by Myrtle Kohler. Gift exchange and refreshments followed.
Hale Corlett of Farmersburg is elected president of the Clayton County Farm Bureau, succeeding retiring leader W. C. Monlux of St Olaf. The first corn loan in Fayette county goes to O E Holtzman near Fayette for 1 000 bushels. Ben Malt of St Olaf receives the first loan on two Eriba totaling 1 350 dollars. Cautionary note warns against swindlers posing as writers or ad reps selling space or subscriptions and demanding partial payments.
Samuel Moaby states he could not attend the Hank event last Thursday, citing unspecified reasons and absence from the gathering.
