The Ami Legion Auxiliary of Sheehan Olson Unit 375 met Tuesday December 8 at 7 80 p m at the Legion hall with Mrs Walter Fritz in charge of posters. President Mrs Lee Palmer led the meeting. Roll call had one member present. They approved minutes and a card donation of 5 to Fayette County Hazarded Children's service. They approved sending a Christmas gift of 2 to Good Samaritan Home in memory of Gold Star members and a 10 subscription to the News Letter for Jr Activities. Committee for Glenwood State School to visit. Rehabilitation program by Mrs Louis S Olson. Collect old zippers jeans for carpet rags. Poem I Believe in a Miracle and story When The True Boy in Bethlehem read. Group closed with Christmas carols led by Mrs Truman Paulson.
Mr and Mrs Ewald Lyngaas and Mr and Mrs George V Larson traveled to Charles City on Monday to attend the funeral of their cousin Tyonard Jacobson, son of Jacobson.
The Clermont County group met with H Ciut present to discuss 2009 plans. A Christmas event with games and a decorative idea was held, lunch served by the hostess, with members participating in a casual gathering.

Members donated twenty six dozen homemade cookies for Fayette County Home. The Christmas Candle was lit by the president and the hostess read the Legend of the Christmas Candle. Tea followed a short social hour.
The Clermont library will not be open on Friday, December 25 and Friday, January 1 at Christmas Way, New Years Day observance.

The Midnight Mass at Saint Peter's Church Clermont will be celebrated in English for the first time. The service features the altar facing the congregation for active participation, with a sung processional by the children to the crib and readings led by John McNeily. Parishioners are invited to attend and share in the celebration.

Gift exchange and 500 were enjoyed with awards to Mrs Lorranne Crowe high score Mrs Dean Mitts second prize to Mrs Enoch Nelson door prize to the winner.
The Rebecca Circle visited Decorah's Retirement Center on Sunday. Mr and Mrs Roy Swenson and Mr and Mrs Alvin performed a social visit with residents and served sandwiches and desserts. They also spoke with attendees during the visit.
The Jr Auxiliary held a Christmas party led by Linda Luch Singer with readings. Members, including Mrs Ohh Bakewell and guests, caroled for the elderly and community, then exchanged gifts and enjoyed lunch hosted by the hostess group.
Parish notices from Clermont Lutheran Church mention Pastor Roger W. Petpreon and events on Thursday evening December 173 at 7:30 pm. Members are urged to participate in gifts for Cameroon children, Sunday school beechers and Bible Study as part of year end activities.
West Clermont Lutheran Church Ruth Circle spent Sunday afternoon from 2 to 4 at the Aause Haugen Home in Decorah. They served Christmas cookies and coffee to residents. Attendees included Lov Vick and several Mrs. names.
