Older Children and Holiday Fun
Parents seek ideas to keep older children engaged during the Christmas holidays. Puppet or Marionette shows offer an enjoyable, easy to direct activity that children can run themselves once started, using homemade dolls costumes and scenery, with parents available only for complex problems.
Children stage crafts from Christmas books and movies
Kids use paints from new kits to make scenery and improvise plays. A table top and curtain create a stage, while a cardboard box or orange crate becomes a puppet set. Marionette strings can be moved through slits. Parents provide minimal guidance so the children own the show.
