Krug backs Columbia Valley authority plan in Capitol defense
Secretary Krug signals support for a Columbia Valley authority to manage reclamation and power, aiming to centralize federal functions without enlarging federal power. He argues the move would speed low cost power, land and mineral development, and raise living standards, while preserving state rights and existing agencies. Executives fear loss of project control amid regional authority push.
