Local notes mix with travel and town life in Elgin
The column records A. T. Knudtson entertaining his father and a business trip to Volga City, hospital activity in Decorah with nine patients, and a church event in Elkader. It notes Lillian Riddle and Matilda Halverson leaving for Minneapolis, a Dec 24 dance with Carpenter's Orchestra, and multiple social calls, visits, and purchases in Elgin. It also mentions war outlook chatter, a coat sale, farm disease warnings, and Rudolph Pfister’s move to Lavina Montana with local ties.
