Elgin Iowa council met in regular session at the town hall with Mayor Falb and councilmen Muehlethaler Kohls ONeal and Dean present. Minutes from November were read and approved and several audit items listed and approved including freight charges fire hose salaries and utilities with adjournment following no further action.
Returns show Marion Township voting Republican about two to one with Dewey 186 and Roosevelt 118. State ticket Blue 196 to Mitchell 56 and other Republicans around 190. Talle 200 to Clausen 99. Sharp beat Crider for state senator 175 to 123. County contests limited to supervisor and county attorney with Roggensack 198 over Hyde 92 and supervisor Wessel 189 over Moser 7. Vern Hupfer elected justice of the peace. Gilbert Lofisgard constable. E A Guisvig and Geo Hanan trustees. Albert Guisvig clerk.
