Obituary notes the life of Katie Frautgchy Miller born April 19 1874 in Green County Wisconsin died November 23 1949 at home in Clermont aged seventy five years. She taught rural schools in Wisconsin and Illinois before marrying John F Miller on February 13 1896. They had seven children and lived on farms near Elgin Clermont and Buffalo Center. She joined Elgin Baptist church in 1893 and remained a faithful member until her death. Survived by seven children seventeen grandchildren two sisters and one brother. husband preceded in death January 27 1946. Funeral held November 26 at home and Elgin Baptist Church with interment in Clermont cemetery. Card of thanks expresses gratitude for condolences and mentions Thanksgiving gatherings with relatives and friends.

Thanksgiving noted with Mr and Mrs James Triem hosting at Hawkeye and guests including John Bakewell Elmer Schutte Verni Engler Mary Huntzinger and others. A Cedar Rapids wedding for Margaret Martin and Robert Von Stein occurred that evening. Families from Des Moines Sherburn and Cedar Rapids visited relatives and celebrated Mary Tschantz 18th birthday.
Twenty five years ago a daughter was born on Thursday November 27 to Mr and Mrs Roger Henderson. C S Halsten son of Rigin hag rented the Double Store building and will open a large general store soon. W R Blake learned last Friday of the death of his father Jesse Blake in Elizabeth. Mr and Mrs Herold Larson welcomed a son born November 28. Harry Shipton of Coe College visited home for Thanksgiving. C Halvorson reported the Julius Johnson farm sold to P K Peterson and Lena Anderson residence sold to Cornelius Olgon. Learning world famous musicians will perform at the Clermont Opera House Saturday night December 6.
Yoe Nelson suffered partial finger amputation after placing his hand in a saw at the Nelson lumber yard on Friday. He was treated at West Union hospital then moved to New Hampton for the operation, with the first two fingers damaged. He is recovering well and expected to return home by week’s end barring complications.

Mr and Mrs Russell Pratt and family dined with Clem Messerle in Wadena. Howard Larson and family from Spring Grove Minnesota joined, as did Eugene Cooley and Rosemary from La Crosse Wisconsin, Ewald Inglas and family with Alden Cornish from Postville, and General V Larson family at the Larson home. They also hosted Thanksgiving for Hans J Larson and Leslie Olson parties from Capron Illinois, who visited Ray Reijerson over the holiday and returned Sunday. Clarence Bear and Connie visited Lovie Peterson in Ossian while Carl Frautschy flew from Madison South Dakota to attend Mrs J F Millers funeral, then visited relatives and returned Sunday.
