Charles Edward Rothlisberger, son of John and Cora Rothlisberger, born March 5 1884 near Ilyria church, died August 21 1933 at his home west of the church aged 49 years 5 months 19 days. He spent most of his life in the Mlyria area farming at multiple properties with wife Lulu Kerr whom he married April 4 1906. They managed several farms, moving between properties before settling on the latest acquired by Albert Dennler, then later exchanging for a larger farm owned by Alton Medberry before renting the last residence.

Local farmer dies after long illness and service
After three years recovering his health and aiding neighbors the Roth-Heberger family repurchased their farm and enlarged it. Survived by widow and three children Earl Helen Hazel, father John Roth Heberger, brothers Walter and Leo, uncles and many relatives. He served as director of High Farmers Dairy and was active in Gleaners and Yeomen Lodges. Funeral August 24 at Syria Community church with Rev Dev Butler and Illyria male quartet. pallbearers were close neighbors James Yearous Albert Dennler Edward Medberry Israel Shaffer John M Shaffer and Thomas Ogle.

Henry Erickson born December 14 1884 near Helmar Loftegard place died August 28 1888 aged sixty nine years eight months nine days after years of anemia and stomach ailments. He married Josephine Nelson in September 1889 lived in Inwood Iowa then returned to Landsgard farm. Survived by eight children fourteen and two great grandchildren seven grandchildren two brothers and many relatives. Funeral held Friday at Henry Vellersven home and Marion church officiated by Rev. G Gunaten in Clermont due to absent pastor.
