Corn crop prospers on Benson farm amid rough season
N O Haven West Union Indiana reports a promising twenty acre corn field where ears measure twelve to sixteen inches and fill well with kernels. Gus Benson asserts the field, once deemed a failure three weeks ago, is now likely to yield forty bushels per acre and underscores faith in Iowa farm lands. In a lighter note, local anglers recount a turtle joke at Meyers Harrow, with fish heads and nineteen bass on a string leading to a humorous miscount and a river tumble.
