A rope found in her room suggests she lowered herself to the ground and fled with the man or was abducted by him. Her mother a divorced wife of Fred Roehm suspects abduction while friends fear elopement toward Milwaukee as police investigate the case.
In Eureka Aug 15 Jamer Amyck was shot and killed by his divorced wife Mrs Dilamyck ten miles northeast of town in the presence of Amyck s brother and his wife. Amyck had threatened the woman and attacked with a rawhide as she fled with a Winchester. She surrendered. Witnesses say the killing was justified due to ongoing trouble since separation and a prior jail term for beating the woman.
Duluth Minnesota August 15 A newspaper story tied to the Holmes murders notes Dr Suseell disappeared from Englewood around 1802 after visiting Holmes who operated an office in his building He later practiced in Grand Rapids Michigan and recounts meeting Holmes a few times but not intimately acquainted with him.
In finyana Cuba on August 15 a Heuten ant colonel of the civil guards pursued the rebel band commanded by Valdis near Matanzas. In the clash one insurgent was killed and five wounded. The civil guards captured Valdia and one follower. the remainder dispersed.
Pittsburg August 16 The Goo miners of the Saw Mine mines went on strike against the company store. The store was at once closed and the miners resumed work.
Spencer Iowa Aug 16 G H Henderahott a prominent attorney committed death by suicide today shooting. Officials cite alleged shortage with an eastern long company. He had lived in Spencer four years and no one suspected such a thing.
