School Board Raises Meal Price Across Grades One Through Twelve
The district debated meal funding after counting 109 377 meals last year and considered a 5 to 8 cent per meal rise. To avoid tapping local taxes, the board chose to raise prices for all grades while maintaining self support. Milk remains 2 cents per serving, with advance ticket deals at multiple centers. Kindergarten to grade 12 lunch tickets set at 25 to 35 cents, adults at 50 cents, and 5 cents extra for meals not on a ticket.

Iowa predicts $80 million state balance by June 1967
State Comptroller Marvin Selden Jr. forecasts an unencumbered balance of $80 million in the Iowa treasury by June 1967, $50 million higher than last year. Gov. Harold Hughes touts the rise as proof of solid economic growth driven by income and sales taxes, while GOP candidates spar over refunds. A brief note reports the wedding of Marvin Feigenspan and Sylvia Hanson, with plans to reside on a military base in Germany.
