State tunnels hold archives in damp Capitol storage

State officials report dangerous mold and dampness in an underground tunnel used to store archives. Shelving, 300 feet long with 1200 transfer files, holds receivership records, agriculture papers, and treasury divisions' documents. Rain exposed the risks, prompting a plan to relocate materials to safer space. A curious brass cannon and gun carriages guard the relics amid the disused tunnel network. Lincoln acceptance text included.
