The Clermont Iowa town council met with Mayor Will J. Nelson presiding and members Riegel Tague Griebenow Johnson Nygaard present. Bills were read and approved including Interstate Power Co airport lights street and hall, Nickal Construction work on sections 1 and 3, Schenk services, Orths Sinclair fuel, Farris Kroca crushed rock, Follett Insurance, Scenic Route telephone rent, Pinimenten items, James O Anderson special police, Elgin council budget, and county notices. Meeting adjourned. guests included the Ronald Gunderson and Lyle Gunderson families and St Lucas visitors, with dinner and supper at local homes.

The West Clermont ALCW general meeting met Wednesday August 5 in the church parlors. Hostesses were Esther circle members Floyd Bergeson Reuben Steffins Gary Jacobson Galen Mack Merle Clark and Kenneth Amundson. Devotions by Pastor Roger Peterson. A Luther League thank you read. Amundsons and Hoopman spoke on upcoming convention trip. Program included Jesus Master Son of Raymond Erhardt and Mrs Clarence Kittelson and Mrs Millard Nelson Jr talks. Songs by kindergarten and junior choir followed. Pastor Peterson gave a talk on Pensions. Birthday offerings by Roxanne Amundson and Mrs Roy Swenson. Meditation by Mrs James Henderson. Meeting closed with Lords Prayer and table prayer.

The Fayette County Demonstration Day themed To Do is to Know in May featured three Clermont County teams. Senior duo Zoe Ann Dibble and Pauline Amundson earned a blue ribbon for Cream Puffs Elegant and Easy, earning a place at Cattle Congress. Intermediate team Jane Anderson and Diane McNeil also won blue ribbons for Fryers for the Freezers and will attend the Big 4 Feat in Postville.
