First Settlers in Townspip Area Record Cabin Building
The 1840s settlement narrative recalls Akatotas township pioneers building cabins near Section 15 and 8, led by Dutton and Smith. Early homesteads, fight fires, rattle-snake encounters, and shared meals mark rough frontier life as families like the Duttons, Jones, Bailey, and Smiths establish homes near West Union and along Little Creek in Township 5, Range 8.
