Attorney Hildreth was arrested on a warrant charging assault and battery. Complainant Jeannette Chandler, formerly Hildreth's stenographer, testified and was discharged. The record states she left after an argument over time in the office and the dispute ended with force during exit.

In Kallspell Montana on April 21 a Great Northern eastbound passenger train struck a broken rail near Bear Creek sixty two miles east of Kalispell. Two engines broke loose and burned down a forty four foot embankment. Both the engineer and fireman on each engine were injured.
Lafond, a Brainerd storekeeper on Sixth street, arraigned for an improper assault on Mrs. Julia Anderson of the Lafond residence. Lafond, a prominent citizen, alleges the arrest is blackmail and has many friends here.
Centerville reports arrest of Hosen berger, a counterfeiter and burglar, taken to the county jail. Deeder ick remains at large as authorities pursue him. Large counterfeit sums have been posted in Orange City, with Deederick having spent time there.
Martin A. Peterson senior member of the general merchandise firm M A Peterson & Co of Blair Blair County Wisconsin has been missing since March 31 He left on foot to a friend a short distance away and has not been heard from since
Washington in April reports Senator Hansbrough secured Col. Loumsberry of Fargo for the post as special land agent. He previously held a similar position under Harrison and the appointment was made under the civil service law for a soldier cause.
A veneer factory in Marshfield Wisconsin burned on April 21 causing about $20,000 in losses. The blaze started in a large structure filled with dry stock and quickly consumed the building. damage was insured.
Writz Riel of Des Moines Iowa was indicted for murder in the first degree for killing Carl Leveky two weeks ago by striking him with a beer glass in a saloon.
John Hoeft of Hay Creek was run over and killed by a passenger train in Minn. A separate Kansas report notes Dr. Jefferson D. Godard indicted for first degree murder in the Woodland hotel shooting of J. J. Jackson following a quarrel over Godard’s alleged attentions to Jackson’s wife.

St Vincent Minn April 22 News reaches here of the drowning of Isaac Finck and Peter Royer near St Vincent after their shanty was blown apart by wind and storm. River rise threatens homeless and destitute families as floods spread along the Red River corridor. Grand Works reports heavy conditions from Grand Forks to Pembina with stock losses and evacuations.
A telegram from Grafton North Carolina mayor and city council asks Secretary Alger for immediate government aid as Red River floods, wind, and freezing temperatures devastate Walsh and Peindina counties. Relief committee coordinates funds. Maj. Sauno ordered to North Dakota to assist flood zones.
A large new breach in the Mississippi delta levee near Lake Providence, Tennessee side, sends a strong flood into Issaquena County and parts of Sharkey and Yazoo. Earlier breaks have already inundated areas, with Yazoo River flow expected to rejoin the main channel soon. Madison parish reports rising floodwaters from the Biggs crevasse and a slow fall in the sugar flow at the site.
April 22 Greenville Miss reports another levee breach on the Promised Land levee forty miles south of the city. The ten foot high wall yields a 400 foot wide gap, flooding thousands of acres not yet inundated and increasing water in surrounding lands.

In the business section of St. Louis on April 22 Edward Clayland a manager for Missouri Electric Light and Power Company was burned to death when a live wire touched him. His smoking body hung suspended for about ten minutes attracting thousands at the scene.
Webster City Iowa April Narnden aged twenty one was drowned. She left the house after dinner and was not seen again until about seven o clock when her father found her on the edge of a small creek nearby where she had evidently fallen face downward.
