Landmark tower falls as Clear Lake church razed
The Methodist church tower at Clear Lake toppled recently during demolition work. The landmark had stood for over 60 years in the town. Nearby, Cleo Wilson of Solon reported a 1912 pound flathead catfish caught in the Cedar River early in the season. John Takes Sr. of Cascade marked his 101st birthday, a lifelong resident. Fescue seedings in town are not recommended for pasture or hay due to rough midsummer texture.
