At Auford Indiana the three year old daughter of Mr and Mrs Brenat Wehmeier sickened and cried for her father prompting reconciliation at her bedside. Mrs Wehmeier had accused her husband of assault and battery desertion and failure to provide leading to a divorce petition. He was fined fifty dollars and costs and bound over to Dearborn county court. While jailed he pledged sobriety and was released on bond. Judge Hauck later dismissed the charges after the couple paid costs and left together.
Five year old girl exhibited at the College of Physicians otology meeting with a rare tinnitus described as ticking inside the head. Physicians could hear the ticking by listening near the skull but could not determine the cause. The child, bright and aware, reports continuous ticking though not distressed.
A Philadelphia burglary attempt was stopped by a vigilant North Keystone telephone operator. Vera McMenamin of Pestontown alerted police after a desk was knocked over in the office of C. C. Strauss & Son at about 2 AM. A voice urged, Go ahead Frank We can get it yet Break it. Ridge Avenue police traced the call to a suspect, aiding the arrest of one of two yeggmen.
Polly the parrot, eleven years old, was to be operated on by two physicians in Springfield by Mrs A L Bailey for a diseased gland. Polly resisted anesthesia and the operation lasted an hour and a half. After the procedure the bird was returned home, still vocal and singing over the telephone.
