Married Ants Sladen March 30 1694. Survived by daughter Helen Lien two granddaughters and two great grandchildren and one sister and one brother. Funeral March 31 1959 East Clermont Lutheran Church Pastor Kronlokken officiating. Interment East Clermont Cemetery. Card of thanks notes expressed by relatives.

Clermont Fire Department was called to East Clermont Lutheran Church last Thursday March 2 at 12 30 p m to contain a small fire from a trash burner that spread to a utility shed and destroyed it. Two metal electrical casings at the church were damaged by the heat.

Kite Contest at Clermont Air Strip Sunday
A Sunday event at the Clermont air strip features a kite flying contest and model airplane demonstration in three classes. Class one limits kites to 18 inches, handmade, flown on thread with age cap of 16. class two allows any style and size for any age. class three permits any style. Girls compete for chief prizes consisting of airplane rides in each category.

The Ladies Aid Society met March 25 at Mrs. Louis Olson’s home with hostesses Mrs. Willet Miller and Mrs. Alfred Baechler. Fourteen members attended, Easter selections were sung, and a birthday tribute to Mrs. Mary Olson was given. A motion approved buying a portable steel book shelf to improve library access. Committees were formed, new books displayed, and a librarian’s report noted variable weekend storm closures. New titles across non fiction, fiction, and children’s sections were listed, including The Peninsula, Out of My Heart, A Right Good Crew, Nautilus 90 N, Peter Marshall’s The First Easter, Pioneer Go Home, The Watch that Ends the Night, and more.
