A grass fire near the Mrs Barbara Yenney residence was reported Wednesday around noon. no damage occurred. Local residents hosted guests and dinners including Mr and Mrs Chas Feller at the Perry Medberry home in Volga on Sunday.
Assor Houg died at his Dover township home on Monday night March 27 at 9 50 at age 86 years 6 months 23 days after a failing heart. Born Sept 4 1857 on the Houg Homestead near Elgin he lived on the family farm until 61 then moved to Clermont and later to his final home. He married Bertina Rear in 1890 and Emma Rear in 1905, father of six children and eight grandchildren. Funeral Friday afternoon at West Clermont Lutheran Church with burial in Clermont cemetery.

Ole O. Aason died at his home near Elgin on Tuesday March 28 at age 74. Born October 26, 1869, in Marion township Clayton County he was baptized and confirmed in Marion Lutheran church. Survived by brother Halvor two sisters Mrs Ben Roble of Caledonia Minnesota and Mrs Carrie Larson of Elgin plus nieces and nephews. funeral held at Elgin funeral home Saturday April 1 with Rev A O Niesget.
