Lamb crop hits seven-year low in 1948
The early lamb crop for 1948 is down for the seventh straight year and will be the smallest on record, about 19 percent below 1947. The drop is due to fewer breeding ewes and fewer ewes lambing before March, though lambs saved per ewe are about the same as last year.
