For Superintendent M. A. Tanner for Supervisor N. Hf. Griffittit and for Coroner A. J. Winter, the appointments are announced in local government notices. The selections reflect the administrative slate and formal district postings.
A long reader letter from Albion Iowa lauds the simple name for the Cleveland baby as fitting for a democratic era. It cites past presidents and party traditions, and argues the choice reflects republican simplicity and patriotism.
On Friday evening Union residents enjoyed an event with Rev. Kent and M W Moir and a Glee Club from Eldora. Members Carmody Murray Meader and Gaines sang with humor. Caldwell’s speech energized Republicans who are gaining here. Robe rts focuses on law practice and business. Boles may see fewer votes this year.
