Beatrice and Frank Carruthers vow love and return kiss

In a tense scene Beatrice admits love to Frank after revealing her late husband’s sins. Frank pleads to marry, she accepts but asks him to hear the full tale. Beatrice reveals her husband Hervey’s crimes. Frank forgives only in part as guilt and heartbreak linger amid a plea for mercy and a bold, chastened future.
