Progress of Work at Jackson Park
A plan to save about 4 000 000 in building the Exposition complex at Jackson Park is described. Structures costing 8 500 000 will appear marble and granite but mainly wood with staff coating. Landscape work, 400 workers, 200 tents, and new fountains planned. State appropriations totaling 21 007 000 with further private funding. Various proposed exhibits include world in miniature, torpedo boats locally built, a 1000-pound solid gold bar display, and a copper ore exhibit. Lord Alfred Tennyson may attend dedicatory events.
