The Iowa State Firemen Association hosts its annual tournament in Cedar Rapids from June 9 to 12. The C I D Ry will sell excursion tickets at one fare for round trip with sale June 8 to 12 and return good until June 18 1891.
The writer surveys Boise City and surrounding lands, noting rapid real estate sales at 350 to 5000 dollars, several new additions, a nearby military fort, a U S assay office reporting 31 million in gold, and a large irrigation project stretching from the Boise to Snake rivers aiming to irrigate about 500000 acres. The eagle will soar over Union on July 4th and scream for God and native land as Union boasts top county entertainment. Eldora and Union share good will, and Union pledges royal treatment to all guests, aiming to make Independence Day one of the grandest celebrations.
District Court, in session over decoration day, adjourns Saturday evening until June 22 when Judge Weaver returns to dispose of several equity cases. The three week term disposed of many matters including State vs Dagobert Doll on payment of $10 and costs, nuisance dismissals in several cases, a $300 nuisance fine for Maitland Smith, and a $3800 nuisance fine for Belmond Koontz with conditions. Juries were unable to reach verdicts in some nuisance cases, and liquidated claims such as Agnes Walmsly v. John Walmsly awarded $275 to plaintiff. Additional items include a damages judgment for theAckley town case, a $150 verdict for Ruth Van Buskirk v. Dubuque & Sioux City Ry, temporary guardian appointment for S.8. Willcox, and town incorporation actions for Radcliffe with appointed commissioners to arrange an election.
A lengthy attack on J. S. Ross accuses him of criminal acts and deceit while praising Dolph and condemning Ross for allegedly lying about articles. The piece questions Ross’s integrity, loyalty, and political battles, then shifts to announce Radcliffe forms State Bank of Radcliffe with Hollis Drake Finn directors and Ballard cashier.
Industrial School managers welcome visitors with teams on campus grounds but ask everyone to stay on the driveways and avoid driving over grass or flower beds. The notice urges attendees to be careful, noting a few have already ignored the path rules.

Albert Winterfield, on jury in Eldora, returned Saturday. Minnie Winterfeld and Miss Perers Wood took schools to Lows Falls. D Kahvs of Cottage in town Friday. Newcomer of Eldora visited on business Friday. Mesars George and Johnnie Jones went to Hubbard Monday night. Eric Christian hauling rock for new barn foundation. Greene Stout returned from Chicago Monday evening.
