The Minneapolis exposition promises novelties unseen in the region including an envelope machine that prints folds and glares, a wood carving device producing intricate designs, and a wire weave device. Also noted is a sermon by Harvey Hostetler of Sioux City urging equal punishment for male and female prostitutes, arguing the Bible supports no gender distinction in penalties.
Traveling man Baker enraged Eldora residents by parading a fake method of procedure and insulting women. Citizens, stressed by his behavior, coordinated a mock shower bath at a southeast hydrant, soaking him as he left town. The community expressed no sympathy for such acts and warned he should not return.

Treaspay board of supervisors met in early July to review architect plans for a new courthouse. Members Carpenter and Wallace attended. Nichols was absent. Architect could not deliver plans until next morning, bids opened for an iron bridge project over the Lews River near Town Filli. John B. Quackenbush submitted the lowest bid of 1493 dollars and 45 cents, accepted. Carpenter authorized to contract for stone piers. meeting adjourned to August 7.
