Larceny Of Motor Vehicle Brings 10-Year Sentences
Two Los Angeles youths were each sentenced to 10 years in the men's reformatory at Anamosa on larceny of a motor vehicle. James Leckness of Waterloo paid a $300 fine and costs for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. Two training school boys received reformatory terms, one at 10 years for larceny and one at five years for grand larceny.

Enrollment in Hardin county schools rose to 5,898 this year from 5,674 in 1957, a net gain of 224 students. Iowa Falls district gained 255. Alden 27. Eldora 10, with six of eleven districts up and five down. Buckeye and several rural schools declined and three rural schools closed. Boys outnumber girls 3,019 to 2,879.

Eldora entrants in weekly Carmill Race Track stock car events near the junction of highways 57 and 65 west of Eldora feature two Ford cars from Wood Auto Co. owned by six locals.
