Artie Allen, 72, begins his 52nd year as a southern Iowa real estate dealer in Osceola, selling 1,888 acres so far this year. Ed Doughaman of Bussey plants Texas cotton seed in his garden, possibly Iowa’s only cotton grower this season. Chase Priest’s cherry tree in Extra bloomed early in September. Wilfred Quinn of Clearfield recovered an identification bracelet lost 2 ½ years ago at a separation center. traced to his current address through a Dubuque veteran.
