County home addition discussed and funding planned
The meeting noted a $07 donation and a remaining $127.02 to raise for completion. The fund will be pursued immediately. The membership committee reported 59 paid memberships for the year. The gun club recounted shell stock replenishment. County Supervisor Wilson H. Hadley spoke on county home improvements while Harlan Frankel and Timm of Algona presented Canada hunting trip and Eldora participant Kay Setchell’s fishing expedition pictures. Moving steward living quarters into the addition would free ward space on the old second floor. A one half mill levy for five years was proposed to finance the $70,000 county home addition, spreading the burden from the existing one mill levy.
