Owasa and nearby residents hosted guests over the weekend and week. Visits included Maywood California couple Owasa hosts Horace Nichols and Albert Barnhart of Eldora. Mary Wood with William Beattie to Jewell for Floyd Beattie’s home. Jimmy’s birthday celebrated. 4 H skating party at Diamond rink Iowa Falls. Junior class play Finders Creepers cast fed after rehearsal. Owasa Jackson fire department met at fire station. Marshalltown visitors Ray Duncan and Wayne Stonewall, Cecil Kinney hosts. Alice Missionary Society met with 18 members and seven visitors. quilting and lunch. Ray Karstens and Hollis Havens families visited Iowa Falls. Miss Martha Potgeter of Starr, Conn. stayed a few days with Mrs. Potgeter. Jurrens of Avon SD dinner with Hartmans. Havens daughter Charlotte with Russell Karstens family in Iowa Falls.
Local society notes record Presbyterial gathering at Woden with Mrs. Tobert as speaker, plus Progress Club and Dorcas Society meetings with hostesses and devotions. Nearby visits include Bakker and Bakker households, multiple family visits, and a birthday mention for Bradley Richard Jensen born October 8 in Marshalltown.
The Queen Esther class bazaar afternoon program at Community church featured talks on Christmas decorations and gifts. Clair Mason demonstrated sequin and ribbon decor, Hanson showcased Danish plates, Vinton displayed cookie cutters, and Hadley and Lundy discussed child friendly decorating crafts. Two vocal duets opened the worship.
The Chester church community reports more than 300 dollars raised by the bazaar led by Mrs. Wilbur Wooten Mrs. Mervyn Wooten and Mrs. E H Biersborn. Nineteen 4-H members attended the Peppy Pals meeting October 11 at Carol Stull home with five visitors.
