Society Group Ts of W S C S meetings in November
The Society Group Ts of the W S C S met at Mrs. Alice Cake rie home with 16 members and four guests. Devotions were led by Mrs. Carroll Hudson, who read Psalm 160 and Blest With Burdens. Mrs. Omer Hubbard gave a Thanksgiving lesson on Thankfulness. November birthday honorees Mrs. Nora Emmert and Mrs. Aurelia Halasey shared brief life highlights and refreshments were provided by Mrs. Cake rie, Mrs. Floyd Gaede and Mrs. Earl Thomas. A Fellowship Tea is planned for December 14 at 2 pm with Group IV in charge. December meetings are canceled.

Lois Miller-Lawrence of Grosse Pointe Woods Michigan has been chosen as concert mistress for the South Oakland Symphony Orchestra for the December 4 concert conducted by Henri Nosco. The 85-member ensemble will perform Scheherazade by Rimsky Korsakov with violin solos by Mrs. Lawrence, and feature the Contemporary Civic Ballet of Detroit.

The Pleasant Township Rural Women met at Roughwoods Hall for November with 17 ladies. Mrs Martin Chrisman of Whitten displayed stuffed toys and crafts. lessons for 1961 were announced. Lunch was served by Mrs Richard Blair, Mrs Donna Osborne, and Mrs Herb Nehring. Mrs Edwin Engel to host December 15 at 4 30 p.m. for the Christmas party.

Ladies Country Club Thanksgiving Dinner Brightens Event
Mrs. Orville Vigars hosted the Ladies Country Club Thanksgiving dinner on Wednesday November 16 with 10 members and three children present. Fall motifs decorated tables and committee members Mrs. Gerald Modlin and Mrs. Ray Roling assisted. A cookie exchange will replace a gift exchange at the December 7 Christmas party at Mrs. George Tbach's home. Court Whist produced prizes for Mrs. C. J. Modlin and Mrs. Bob Gray. The Eldora Cemetery Society met at Mrs. Emma Wasson's home with 19 members present and planned the December 8 meeting hosted by Miss Alice Stebe and Mrs. Ruth Lewig for a 12 o'clock potluck Christmas party.

The Eldora Girl Scout Neighborhood gathered on Wednesday November 16 at 9 30 a m in the Scout Room chaired by Mrs. Robert Seggerthan A plan for Christmas caroling by Scout Troops was made with tentative caroling after school on December 19 at nursing homes hospitals or for shut ins After caroling troops will be treated to hot chocolate and cookies A new Brownie troop was formed with 24 members meeting at Congo Church On January 18 the next meeting is scheduled and December is skipped Troop 205 meets at Congregational Church with President Jean Marsden hosting activities including a house plant cutting cookout and Founders party Troop 209 of Gil Scout 209 has 20 fourth grade girls meeting after school with games crafts and a Halloween party

Eldora area girl scout groups Troop 202 and Troop 210 meet weekly in local venues. Troop 202 with 26 third graders hikes, tours courthouse tower, crafts pumpkins, writes get well notes, learns songs and games, aided by Anne Longenecker. Troop 210 visits Iowa Power and Light basement, marks Juliette Low anniversary with an imitation birthday cake, displays at Mr. Olson’s sporting goods window, sews sashes, pursues First Class requirements, reviews Scout laws, and gears up for November nut sales led by Mrs. White and Mrs. Webster as alternate troop nut chairmen.

Agnus Dei Study Club Meeting Highlights Parish Center Gift
The Agnus Dei Study Club met with Mrs. Harry Lawless for a regular meeting. Mrs. Dale Lawless led the lesson on Communion with the Dead and The Mass. Special reports covered Abraham Cain and Abel. A kitchen shower group gift for the new Parish Center was decided, and plans for the December Christmas dinner were discussed. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Lawless. Also, Mrs. Ruie Dickinson of Des Moines visits Burt Goodell’s home. Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Uhiken travel from Omaha after visiting the Burt Goodell household.
