Wayne Peshia Wins Football Contest

8500 Game Fish Restocked In Iowa River
The State Conservation Commission released 8500 game fish into the Iowa River at Eldora Steamboat Rock Alden and Town Falls. About 7500 small mouth bass came from the Decorah hatchery while nine to ten inch catfish were taken from the Mississippi River as part of a restocking program after soft fish removal last month.

In Iowa Falls investigations continue into the stabbing of Kenneth Schwebke 22 Thursday police say Schwebke was called home by his wife Nancy after a threatening call to their two children. He was stabbed in the shoulder with a sharpened screwdriver found in the yard. He was treated and released.

Amburn Freight Names Winston-Salem Man Office Manager
James Welch of Winston-Salem North Carolina was named office manager of Amburn Freight Lines of Eldora by owner Bob Adams this week. Welch, with freight line experience, moved into the Ed Wiesner home on North Washington Street Saturday. The Welchs have six boys. The Amburn Freight offices are in a trailer at the terminal north of the Sno-Creme Drive Inn. Adams said work may start soon on a new terminal warehouse and transfer dock.
