Hog market outlook May 1952 and fall pig prospects
Kutish expects a temporary reaction to May gains as a broad market uptrend continues. Hog numbers remain large with packers bulging pork stocks from winter kills. Pork lards rise while other cuts hold. If hog runs rise, prices may retreat from May highs. summer prices likely above OPS ceilings. Fall 1952 pig crop seen smaller. hog production decline continues into 1953, aiding profits if corn crop is normal.
