James Rash Promoted to Corporal in Korea with I Corps

Services Held For Mrs Kirkdorffer At Baptist Church

Funeral services for Mrs. Sarah Kirkdorffer were held Monday at 2 pm at Eldora Baptist Church with Rev H C Short officiating. Burial in Eldora. She died after a brief illness following a heart attack. Surviving are three daughters and two sons, Linus Doughty of Eldora, Merle Kirkdorffer of Eldora, and ten grandchildren. Her sister Mrs Ivan Scott of Field Kansas also survives. Born December 12 1876 in Dauphin County Pennsylvania, she married Jacob Kirgerfer in Elkhart Indiana December 19 1895 and moved to Eldora in 1904.

County Extension Groups to Meet in Eldora Friday

The county extension program planning committee and subcommittees on special topics will meet at the extension office in Eldora next Friday March 27. Eldora Soloists At Music Workshop

Eldora music students joined about 100 others in a workshop for instrumental and vocal soloists at the University of Iowa. The four week program culminated with a solo workshop for strings arts woodwind and vocal ensembles, with participants from 14 Iowa towns. Fifteen minutes were allotted for each recital and critique by university music faculty.

Legion Withdraws Gift Offer To Eldora Community Building

The American Legion Walter Sayer Post withdraws its 10 000 to 25 000 gift offer intended to back a community building in Eldora. The plan stalled after last year’s March 20 1952 vote and a stormy session with no time limit set, leaving the project inactive and funding in flux. Radcliffe Beef Cattle Banquet Draws Hardin Countians

About 300 attendees met Friday evening for the Beef Cattle Outlook and Feeding Banquet at Radcliffe. H. B. Howell, Iowa State extension farm management specialist, delivered the keynote on beef price trends while C. C. Culvertaun, professor of animal husbandry, led discussions. A statewide survey showed a $1,260,000 expenditure in the current year.
