Four 4-H presentations from Eldora Union New Providence and Hubbard were judged top in their classes at McClure Hall Ellsworth Community College Iowa Falls. Senior winners Kaye Seward Jeff Cook Stan Penning and Ann Wood advance to the Iowa State Fair in August with It's A Dog's Life Hogs Are Beautiful But and A World of Greenery At Home. Junior and intermediate ribbons also awarded with blue red and white distinctions across several towns.

Bankers Trust Company of Des Moines filed in Hardin County District Court a suit for $10,431.81 against Richland Farms Inc of Radcliffe. The petition alleges goods sold by Thompson Hatchery Inc of Ellsworth from Nov 1976 to Feb 1977 totaling the amount, secured by a July 8 1976 security agreement in all present and future receivables. Thompson Hatchery filed bankruptcy Feb 22 and May 11 the court found notes and receivables pledged to the plaintiff. The plaintiff seeks judgment for the balance due.
