Renewals surge as 3641 license applications arrive
At the close of business at the sheriff's office yesterday 3641 applications for renewals of drivers licenses were taken by Mrs Grace VanPatter designated by the state to receive and forward these applications. The time for securing renewals without examination closed yesterday. The Iowa Falls office has been making a record similar to Eldora's as applications come in from Franklin county and Hubbard. It is probable the two offices together have taken 6000 or more applications from this county. Many individuals may have sent their applications directly to Des Moines. Estimates indicate about 12000 Hardin county licensees may not have sent applications and will need to take examinations to drive in the coming biennium.
